Recognition of non-section courses
Recognized training courses
CAVE: Please register on our website. Otherwise, you will not be able to attest to the courses.
Basic and advanced courses are recognized. Final course and final exam must be done in Switzerland.
Basic and advanced courses of DEGUM and ÖGUM are recognized if the courses meet the requirements of SGUM Bewegunsapparat: see below.
In any case, an application for recognition of the course is required: here.
Criteria for the recognition of courses
General:
- Group size for practical exercises: max. 5 participants per tutor
- The tutor must be qualified according to SGUM tutors: for Germany at least DEGUM level II or III.
- Theory: at least 6 hours without a break
- Practical work on the ultrasound device: at least 6 1/2 hours without a break
- All criteria must be stated on the course certificate.
Contents of the basic course:
The basics of sonography including artifacts must be discussed in theory.
The sonoanatomy of the following joints (shoulders, elbows, hand, hip, knee, foot) must be instructed.
All SGUM BWA anatomy learning objectives must be instructed.
Content of the intermediate course:
In theory, the sonopathology of the following joints must be covered in accordance with our learning objectives: Shoulder, elbow, hand, hip, knee and foot.
Content of the final advanced course:
If you are aiming for the certificate of competence in Switzerland, foreign final courses are not recognized; the final course must be held in Switzerland.
Final examination:
The final examination is required of all candidates for the musculoskeletal certificate (SGUM).
Supervision:
Even if you take the courses abroad, you must carry out 100 examinations before the advanced course and 100 examinations before the final course together with an SGUM-recognized tutor/supervisor.
