Course participation
- All participants must be present for the entire duration of the course.
- Groups must be adhered to
- Certificates about the completed course will be distributed at the end of the course
Training procedure for the sonography skills certificate, musculoskeletal module
The courses of the Musculoskeletal Section SGUM are only intended for physicians with a federal medical diploma or a federally recognized foreign medical diploma.
1. basic course
100 supervisions before the advanced course certified by tutor or supervisor on the website
2. Advanced course
100 supervisions before the final course certified by tutor or supervisor on the website.
3. final course
200 self-assigned examinations (independent, hospitation) with balanced distribution on the musculoskeletal system must be performed independently and documented (report and image documentation) within 2 years after the last course attendance. Here, hospitations are desirable and to be welcomed.
- The documented 200 independent examinations must be checked and confirmed by a tutor (entry in the database).

A Swiss FMH specialist title is required for the definitive receipt of the certificate of proficiency.
Remarks:
- Supervisions prior to the basic course are not credited. Holders of the Swiss Certificate of Competence SGUM Sonography other module (e.g. abdomen) must perform 50% of the required supervisions and examinations on their own responsibility. Application for 50% number of supervision here.
- The number of participants in the courses is generally limited in order to be able to teach the practical exercises on the equipment efficiently. Registrations will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis, based on established quotas.
- The Musculoskeletal Section of the SGUM reserves the right to cancel a course if there are insufficient participants. In this case, any payments already made by participants will be refunded. No claims for further compensation can be made against the Section.
- Coffee breaks and lunches are usually taken together on the individual course days and are included in the course costs. All other expenses such as travel, accommodation, other meals and teaching materials are the responsibility of the participant.
The Musculoskeletal Section SGUM promotes and organizes structured education, training and continuing education in ultrasound diagnostics of the musculoskeletal system.
Cancellation
If a participant who has already registered and confirmed their enrollment cancels, they must:
- For cancellations made up to 4 weeks (28 days) before the course: 200 - Administrative fee.
- For cancellations made less than 4 weeks before the course, the full amount is due. We recommend covering the course fees with cancellation insurance.
- If a registered participant does not show up for the course, no refund is possible.
- Dates and deadlines are determined by the postmark or the date the email was sent.
